I got all excited b/c this dress Stella is wearing in the commericals is the same dress auntie Sharon bought Lauryn for the shower.
This dress was special to me because my best friend bought it for my daughter, but now I gotta admit...it just got a little sweeter!

I'm POOPed

For the past, I don't know how many weeks, Lauryn has had a very regular poopoo schedule. Let me start by saying she NEVER poops unless its during a feeding or right after. Don't ask me why she does this, but it must be one of her things...you know? So anyway, her poopoo schedule goes something like this. If she poos at the 12 o'clock feeding today, she will poo at the 3 o'clock feeding the next day, and then the 6 o'clock feeding the day after that. you get the pattern?? HOWEVER, the past 3 days she has been pooping at the 3 AM feeding, and it's been killing me. All I want to do at 3 AM is go back to sleep.

lucky for her...daddy never has to change her poopoo diaper at the butt crack of dawn so he bought her a horse!

Movin on up!

Like I say on every post, Lauryn is growing so fast. This week, I will be moving her bottle nipple and diaper from a "1" to a "2". I don't know why it has taken me so long to move her up, when clearly she was ready for these changes a couple weeks ago. What can I say?? I'm a creature of habit.

drum roll please....tah dah!! its the big TWO!

In addition to taking care of my baby, laundry, dishes, etc. I'm suppose to be working out so that I can drop 10-15 lbs esp. since I have a wedding and bach party to attend. I gotta make my britney comeback!! pleeeeeeeease!! However, instead of eating healthy I've turned to this box. Lucky for me, it only comes with 3 sandwiches (whew)! Trust me, if there were a hundred in there...the box would still be empty by the end of the week. Someone help me!

So far so good...

Sleep training has been going really well. I went from carrying Lauryn in my arms all day to hardly holding her at all. Now look at her, she's sitting all by herself!



Now that Lauryn is sleeping in her crib and not in my arms, i am able to spend some quiet time reading during her naps. I really cherish these moments especially b/c there was a time when I thought those days were seriously over.

Right now I'm reading The Last Lecture. I caught some of Dr. Pausch's lecture on youtube a while back, but I must say...the book is sooo~ much better!! (isn't it always??) Today I caught myself laughing and crying, laughing and crying. Reading this book makes me think about what kind of mom I am, and what kind of mom I want to be. What legacy will I leave behind for Lauryn?



Phil doesn't get to spend a whole lot of time w/ Lauryn, so when he does see her...he loves to hold her for a little bit. Thought I'd capture it on film (or memory card). =)

I recently discovered that Lauryn loves it when I kiss her toes.

Two Months

I cannot believe it's been a little over two months since lauryn's birth. In the beginning time seemed to go at a snails pace, but now it's really starting to pick up. My lil girl is growing so fast!

Today was her two month appt!! She had to get 4 shots in the thighs. I was so nervous about this appt. but I'm so happy to say she did really well. She only cried for a few minutes, which is nothing compared to the "crib training" cry. so sad huh? Well, here's my lil angel at two months.

(BTW she's in the 97th percentile for weight and 95th percentile for height)

This picture cracks me up. She looks so aunt jemima! hahah

She LOVES the play gym. Lauryn's getting really good at hitting those little stuffed animals. So her favorite toys at two months are the play gym and her fingers. Boy, does she love looking and sucking on those fingers.
