Our Summer Schedule

July was pretty busy with VBS, Hawaii, and a music class that both girls were signed up for.  Now that we are in August, we are enjoying our time at home.  I am trying to keep our schedule flexible this month so that we have plenty of time for playdates, special outings, swimming, and mainly to just spend some time at home.  Once I start working, both the girls will be spending most of the day either at grandma's house or preschool so a part of me wants to stay home as much as possible.

With that said, I did want to do one special thing for each of my girls this summer.  Lauryn was dying to take ballet and tap again so I signed her up for a class once a week.  I love it because there are only 4 girls in the whole class, which means everyone gets plenty of attention from the teacher.  The parents are not allowed to watch but I still managed to take this picture through the crack in the door.

Cara and I go to gymboree once a week.  Lauryn, the introvert, wasn't really into gymboree so we never signed her up.  However; Cara seems to really love going.  We go to gymboree when Lauryn is at school so it's so nice to be able to spend this time with Carebear without any interruptions from big sis!!

So, other than that...we play play play at home.  It makes me so happy when the girls play together.  Here they are playing princess and king.

We also try to visit the grandmas at least once a week.  Check out this last picture.  No wonder they love going there...grandma sure knows how to spoil them!!

FYI: there are 3 grandmas...their great grandma aka: white halmuhnee b/c she has white hair, my mom aka: black halmuhnee b/c she has black hair, and my mother-in-law aka: daddy halmuhnee

Hopefully we do something fun this weekend so I have something worth blogging about.

Hawaii 2012

Last week, we met my sister's family in Hawaii.  We all stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa Resort, and I would highly recommend this place for families.  We had a blast...I'll let the pictures explain the rest.

Here we are heading to LAX.  This was Cara's first flight.

After the long flight, it was nice to be able to get fresh air as soon as we exited the plane.

Our first dinner in HI was at Ruth's Chris.  Here's Isabelle and her 1 lb king crab legs.

We ended up taking the pack n play just in case we needed it, but as you can see...Cara was quite comfortable on the bed.  It was soooo nice to sleep next to her, and I miss listening to her snore in my ear all night long.

So the resort has this lagoon area.  Isn't it amazing??? Look at that water!!

You can rent so many different water activities like kayaks, paddle boards, snorkel gear, paddle boats, etc.

That building right behind us is where we ate breakfast every day and look who was swimming in the lagoon!!

LB laying out!!

Cara knocking out!!  This was very typical of her...towards the end of the week she started adjusting to the time change.

My kind of dinner

LB gave her favorite unni so many hugs throughout the day and would always hold her hand any time we had to walk somewhere.  Isabelle took such good care of Lauryn and never once got annoyed with her.  I am soooo thankful for her cousins!!

Cami and LB signed up for the dolphin meet and greet while Isabelle did the dolphin encounter.

This silly girl wasn't old enough to do any of that but she was still a happy camper.

Our view from our room.  Right below us was where the dolphins were for dolphin quest so we got to see them swimming around every day.

I was so proud of Cara! What a trooper!!

I've been bitten by the vacation bug and am looking into our next family vacation.
