Mirror, Mirror

Lauryn enjoys looking at herself in the mirror these days. I don't think she knows it's her own reflection yet, but she seems to like what she sees.

Friends

In the new Aug. edition of Parenting magazine, there is an article called, "the 6 friends every mom needs". according to the magazine, here is the list of 6 friends:

1) the mom in the same boat

2) the no-kids pal

3) the been-there, done-that mom

4) the i'll do anything for you buddy

5) the slightly glam girlfriend and

6) the brutally honest pal

As I was reading the description of each friend (pretty self explanatory), i couldn't help but think of my own friends who fall into one or several of these categories. now i hate when people categorize friends or try to define them into particular boundaries b/c i know for myself I don't really like being typed one way or the other. However, it was nice knowing that I have friends who fulfill my needs according to the magazine. It also made me think about myself and what kind of friend I am. Hopefully, I am a friend who is at least one of the topics listed above. So, todays blog is not about my immediate family...but its about my friend family. Thank you to all my friends for being there for me, my baby, and the hubs!! Love ya!!

TWO WEEKS AGO: lost my atm check card

LAST WEEK: cancelled my atm check card

TWO DAYS AGO: lost my amex card

YESTERDAY: found my atm check card (that no longer works)

TODAY: found my amex @ red robin where I last used it w/ CK!

all i can say is...never lost my baby...lost my mind a few times, but i never lost the baby~!! i think that still makes me an okay mommy...heehee! =)

Round 2: Lauryn attempts to put Baby Minnie in the scissor lock, but Minnie gets away

Round 3: Baby Minnie quickly jumps on Lauryn's back and is about to take her out!

Round 4: Lauryn uses her crazy strength to regain the lead and pins Baby Minnie to the mat! Ding. Ding. Ding. Baby Lauryn wins!!

Here's the first solid food prepared for my lil princess. For her 5-month birthday, I thought we would kick it off by trying some rice cereal.

Yea, would you want to eat something that looked like that? Does that even look yummy to anyone?

Here she is after 2 spoonfuls. She pretty much spit everything out and made funny faces the whole time. We'll try again next week, maybe I'll prepare something else. It's ok, Lauryn...if you prefer eating your toys instead...so be it! Mommy still loves you! =)

4 Month Shots

Lauryn did really really really well today at the dr.'s office. She managed to swallow some of the oral vaccine and had minimal crying with the shots. I was so proud of her. When we came home, she seemed to be in her usual happy mood which made me very happy! Thanks to Grandma for coming with us. It's always nice having an extra hand when taking the baby out.

4th of July

This year we spent 4th of July with friends at a park. It was fun being outdoors, BBQing ribs & kalbi, and catching up with friends. Lauryn did great all day (despite a bit of stranger anxiety). I've come to realize how much she loves the outdoors and fresh air. I should really take her out more often! As much as she loves the park, my daughter's favorite place is still home. She's all smiles as soon as we walk in the door!

After my crazy 24 hr vegas trip I learned that rompers are the way to go!

Here's the hubby "watching the baby" while I'm busy cleaning the apt. Ultimate frisbee pretty much zapped all his energy for the day!

Sorry, no pictures at the park. Right now I only have my big ol' SLR camera and I refuse to lug that around when I have a diaper bag full of stuff. Plus, I really don't want to look like a tourist!

Four Months

Lauryn is now four months and seems to be picking up something new every week. She looks completely different in her carseat compared to when we first brought her home from the hospital. People tell me her face changes every time they see her.

Check this out!! There you have it folks....my four month old daughter is holding her own bottle!! Unfortuneately, she can't do this consistently or for long periods of time; however, she loves being in control and always has at least one paw on the bottle. Thats the hair you get after a gooooooood nap!!

Next week, we have her four month shots...not looking forward to that! Happy early 4th of July!!!
